New Millwright Local 2309 Leadership Team

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I’m pleased to share with you that I have been appointed to a new position as Director of Operations for the Millwright Regional Council of Canada effective September 1, 2021.

It has been a true honour and sincere privilege to serve Millwright Local 2309 and our membership. A privilege that will always be remembered and appreciated.

I am humbled by the continued support and trust you have given me, and I look forward to serving our organization further by adopting strategies that will lead to 70 percent market share, greater productivity, and overall, a better way of life for our members and their families across Ontario.

Thanks to the cohesive planning of our team, we are on course to embrace new training technologies, partnerships and standards that ensure we remain competitive in vital industries under new Business Manager Brother Drew Chittenden effective September 1, 2021.

Brother Chittenden is a professional and will serve you well as he leads Millwright Local 2309 forward with vision of progression to modernize and implement accountability measures that provide long term sustainable strategies to secure and maintain work for all our members.

Progression continues with Business Representative Brother John Baker now overseeing the eastern area of our jurisdiction and newly appointed Business Representative Brother Joe Kowaliw will now oversee the western area effective September 1, 2021.

Brother John Baker has been instrumental in the development of Millwright Local 2309 and his vision to meet goals and objectives is second to none.

Brother Joe Kowaliw brings union leadership experience and vast industry knowledge to the team and is a welcomed addition to growth strategies and our overall market-share growth agenda.

Congratulations to the new Millwright Local 2309 leadership team!

Our collective goal is to maintain growth in a cyclical environment. Our primary drivers are in innovation, technology and maintenance and we are working diligently to ensure future industry strength for our membership building strong, leading the way.
