UBC MILLWRIGHT LOCAL 2309 ADVANCE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Toronto, ON. – UBC Millwright Local 2309 is set to improve and enhance their training curriculum offered to new apprentices and journeypersons from the second round of the Ministry of Labour’s Training and Skills Development Fund.  An investment of $675,150 has been allocated for the purchases of a Tele-Handler/Rough Terrain Forklift, Elevated Work Platforms, Laser Alignment equipment & the newest technology in Hy-Torq bolting and fastening systems.

“UBC Millwright Local 2309 and its membership continue to build strong and lead the way in safety, skillset certifications & leadership training.  This investment from the Skills and Development Fund Round 2 project will provide the necessary funding to secure a Tele-handler, Scissor Lift, Articulating Boom lift, Laser Alignment equipment and the newest technology in Hy-Torq bolting and fastening systems.  Minister of Labour Monte McNaughton reached out personally to lend his support and echo the importance and need to invest in Ontario’s skilled trades for our collective future.”  Said Drew Chittenden, Business Manager at Millwright Local 2309.
